One measure of the intellectual and moral degeneration of the West over the last decades is the now near-total ignorance of the founding Classics of Western civilization, even among the so-called educated class.
The Greek philosopher Aristotle believed that the ideal of citizenship entailing civic duties and group solidarity, necessarily requires a strong common identity and a sharp differentiation between citizens and foreigners.

However, every aspect of the current iteration of the American Republic not only rejects the ideas of Aristotle – who  had a profound effect on the Founding Fathers, but indeed welcomes all that that brings about tyranny.
