Every so often, the internet produces an insult so unexpected that it deserves a closer look. China’s “Baizuo” was one example: a word that condensed a particular criticism of Western liberalism into a single, memorable label. Now, an equally curious expression is attracting attention in discussions of Japanese dating culture: “Pocahontas.” What is the word supposed to mean, why is it being used in this context, and what does it reveal about the way people judge one another? My latest video investigates the story behind this unusual label and the cultural assumptions that may lie beneath it.
Out soon, and as always, thanks so much for sticking with me. It is very much appreciated and I hope your week goes well.
Be well.
